In addition to Sunday contributions, school tuition, bingo, the festival and other fundraising efforts, St. Helen Parish earns income through the purchase and resale of gift cards and community reward programs from retail stores. These stores include, Kroger, Meijer, Kohl's, Speedway, and more. Below is a list of offerings that we hope you will take advantage of. It is FREE MONEY to the parish and is no more of an expense than purchases you would otherwise make directly at a store. CERTIFICATE and GIFT CARD (SCRIP) PROGRAM In addition to everything above we also have a program for which we take orders. This program allows you to purchase gift cards to hundreds of vendors including retail stores, restaurants, and specialty stores. Of course you can use them yourself and not just for gifts! How it works: You place an order, pay for it and we fulfill it for you to pick up later in the week. Orders are able to be placed and picked up at the rectory, at church after weekend masses, and at the credit union. Parents of St. Helen students are also able to place and receive orders through the school. KROGER Beginning immediately, Kroger has started issuing Gift Cards in the initial amount of $25. The card can be purchased from us and you then use it at the store just like any gift card. The serial number of the card will track the purchases and St. Helen will earn 4% of the monthly total every time our collective purchases/reloading reach $5,000. Once you buy the initial gift card from us, all future transactions take place at the store. You can use cash, credit cards or checks to reload you card, and then make your purchases over and over with the same card. For credit card users this should be a plus because you will continue earning whatever rewards your credit card offers. At the same time St. Helen will benefit from your reloading of the gift card. Cards are available at the rectory, after weekend masses, and at the credit union and must be purchased from us with cash or check. MEIJER Meijer discontinued certificates a while ago. They have switched to a Community Reward Guest Card that can be for your wallet and/or keychain and tracks your purchases when you scan your card at the register, regardless of your method of payment. Meijer also has a credit card that automatically serves as a reward card. We have Applications in the music room/library that must be completed and mailed directly to Meijer.
